DangerMan, the Urban Superhero promotes literacy and educates children on the dangers of not being able to read and get a good education, and the dangers associated With guns, gangs, drugs and alcohol. DangerMan empowers children to celebrate the power of books, the joy of reading, dreams for the future and an end to violence. "Give the Gift of Reading, Literacy Campaign" is a national literacy initiative to distribute books to low income children, was created by the DangerMan Education Foundation, Inc. to serve the children in urban America who are the most difficult to reach. These Children are found in soup kitchens, shelters for the homeless and abused, community youth centers, libraries, pediatric clinics, public housing programs, migrant workers centers, before and after school programs and other community-based initiatives.

DangerMan the Urban Superhero wants to insure that every child has a safe and nurturing learning environment that is free from danger in and out of the classroom. "When our children's safety is at stake, we must take action... and we all have a role to play. "says DangerMan.
